Wall Collage for my Daughter's Room

Hello, I have a DIY project for you today.

Here was my inspiration piece that I have found via Pinterest.

Wall collage by Ginny Phillips Photography.

Pinned Image

Ginny's collage captured me and I knew that I had to do this for my daughter.

Emily had a large wall space over her daybed that needed some love.  We have been slowly collecting items for the wall and have completed the project.  Here is the view from her doorway. Her paint color is called Strawberry Freeze by Behr Paints from Home Depot.

We loved how it turned out! So colorful and full of meaning for Emily.  She picked out each piece and even made most of it herself. Here is another view from inside the room. We also made a multi-colored tissue pom-pom that you can see hanging from the ceiling.

The frames came from Hobby Lobby and I spray painted them glossy black. The small canvas painting below is Emily's artwork from school. The laugh sign is a chipboard piece from Hobby Lobby that Emily painted pink. The green mirror and blue "E" are also from Hobby Lobby.

In the picture below, Emily made the banner using an American Girl Doll banner kit from Michael's. The picture below the banner was made by Emily at school. I just had to frame it because it was featured in the local school art show. (Yes, proud Momma!)

This bird picture below was also painted by Emily. The frame is from Michael's.

I LOVE the framed picture below.  This is a picture from our fall 2011 family pictures. The photographer handed Emily the lips on a stick and this is the look that she captured. This is my daughter all the way. Her personality shines through in this picture!! Frame is from Hobby Lobby.

This collage of frames also came from Hobby Lobby. The two black frames were white but I painted them with black acrylic paint to match with my other black frames.  I let Emily pick the pictures so they will have some meaning for her. There are a couple of beach photos, one from a dive competition, a couple of family shots, and of course the dog and the cat!

This peach sign below was plain wood from Hobby Lobby so Emily painted it colors to match her room. She raided my stack of flowers and rub-on's and made it just the way she wanted it to look.

I love everything that is on the word art canvas below. I bought it so long ago that I don't remember if it came from Hobby Lobby or Bed Bath and Beyond.

I love how it turned out and I love that Emily made most of the items.

I want her to be surrounded and inspired by her own creativity.

Here is the YouTube video showing you everything up close, a before and after of the wall, and a look around Emily's room.

Thank you for looking! I appreciate you all!!
