Craft Room Changes - Decorations

I am back again today to share some more changes that I am making to my craft room.

For this post I want to share with you some decorations that I have made for my craft room.

Since I am changing the colors to aqua, red, and white I went through my scrapbook paper stash and found some paper that coordinated.
The first thing I wanted to do was cover this wooden letter "S" in some paper.
I used the Handmade collection by Lily Bee Designs and the sheet of paper is called Rag Quilt.
I painted the S with some white acrylic paint and then traced it out of the paper. I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper.
The next project I completed was using this Maya Road Tin that holds chipboard pieces. I have several of these sitting in a shelf and decided to use one as a decorative piece.
Since the tin has a clear plastic front, I adhered some more Lily Bee paper to it from the Handmade collection using the sheet called Running Stitch. I just placed it inside the tin behind the cover and used glue pop dots to hold it in place. Before adding the paper to the inside,  I cut out the phrase "Love this life" from my Silhouette Cameo die cutting machine. I used some more Lily Bee paper to make the cut and then painted it a brighter aqua blue with some Acrylic paint from my stash. I also painted a wooden camera piece from Studio Calico and added it to the paper as well.
To pull this all together, I hung a white shelf from Ikea right above my desk.
I added the letter S and tin and then added a red framed family picture and stacked some of my washi tape and that completed this shelf. The red frame is from World Market.
For my next project, I painted a mason jar with the Regal Red spray paint that I showed in my post yesterday.  I made some paper rosettes from the Lily Bee Handmade collection and glued them to a dowel rod that I painted white and placed them inside the jar. This sits on a bigger shelf that is on the wall with my desk.
I added my sewing thread to a candy dish from WalMart and found this wonderful vintage Kodak camera at a local antique store.
Here are some close-up pictures of the rosettes.
My next project uses this white 7 Gypsies Printers tray as show below. These are available at BlueMoon Scrapbooking.com.

I cut up a mix of Lily Bee, My Minds Eye and Fancy Pants papers from my stash. I just cut the paper to fit each opening. I then made some die cuts using my Silhouette Cameo and some Ali Edwards brushes. I love her digital elements from Designer Digital. They work perfectly in the Cameo.
I added a few embellishments/stamps and my pictures and this project was complete. I have it hanging over my desk and love looking at it everyday!!
Here are some close-up pictures.
The sticker below is from the Fancy Pants Good Life collection.
Here is the view from my desk.

Thank you so much for looking!!
I am having such a good time making homemade crafts for my space. It makes me happy!! I hope you are inspired to create.
I will have more projects so stay tuned.

Craft Room Changes - Changing Colors

In my posts this week, I want to share with you the changes I am making to my craft room.

I am changing the colors in my craft room to aqua, red, and white.

My craft room is already painted  a color called cloudless sky by Behr paints.  I just needed to start adding some red accents. All of my desks and shelving are white and my hardware in the room is silver.
I wanted to keep my existing lamp and stools so I just decided to alter them to fit into my new color scheme.
Here is my lamp before. This came from Target.
For the lamp shades, I lightly sanded them and added a white paint primer and then added my red color.

Here is the red spray paint that I used. I bought this from Home Depot.

Here is the after.
I love the pop of color!!

For my bar stools, I painted the legs a white paint/primer spray paint. For the tops, I recovered them with red fabric. These bar stools came from Target several years ago.

Here is the after. So pretty!

I had a curtain made for my room so I ordered extra fabric for the stools.
Here is my new curtain. Nice and simple.

So far I am loving the little pops of red. I am starting to see the transformation come together.
I have some more projects that I am working on for my room and will share those this week.
Stay tuned!!
I will do a final video share once the room is complete.

Finally...a blog post from me!

Long time no talk to!!

Sorry for the quiet blog. I was waiting for blogger to fix some issues in regards to selecting my pictures from my files, but they have still not fixed the issue.

I finally read somewhere that they suggested we use Google Chrome and what do you know, blogger works from Chrome.

All techy stuff aside, I have been working on projects for my craft room. I am almost done and will share soon. I changed my color scheme to aqua, red, and white and have been redecorating and making some fun crafts.

I also need to finish my December Daily album. At least before the end of January, right?

For my blog, I updated my family picture. We took some new family pictures back in November so I decided you guys might like to see a new picture.

I also created a Twitter and Instagram  and Google+ account.  The new icon buttons have been added to the blog.

I am still trying to figure out Google+, but still come join me there too.

I hope you will come follow me on these sites.

Leave me your twitter and instagram name so I can follow you too.

I make updates on these sites often, so please follow me so you can see snapshots of what I am working on throughout the day/week.

See y'all later!!

My Winter Mantel

Today I would like to share with you all my winter mantel.

I hope you all had a wonderful holidays and new year's!
I took some time off from crafting and blogging while my daughter was out of school.
To start off my 2013 crafting, I worked on my winter mantel.
I wanted to make some crafts that could stay out year round and all I would have to do is change up a couple of items for each season/holiday.
As of right now, I can't get any pictures to upload to my blog, but I did make a video that will show you everything in detail.
As soon as blogger is working and I can update pictures, I will add some on to this post.
Hope you enjoy the video!!
Happy 2013 to you all!
