Craft Room Changes - Changing Colors

In my posts this week, I want to share with you the changes I am making to my craft room.

I am changing the colors in my craft room to aqua, red, and white.

My craft room is already painted  a color called cloudless sky by Behr paints.  I just needed to start adding some red accents. All of my desks and shelving are white and my hardware in the room is silver.
I wanted to keep my existing lamp and stools so I just decided to alter them to fit into my new color scheme.
Here is my lamp before. This came from Target.
For the lamp shades, I lightly sanded them and added a white paint primer and then added my red color.

Here is the red spray paint that I used. I bought this from Home Depot.

Here is the after.
I love the pop of color!!

For my bar stools, I painted the legs a white paint/primer spray paint. For the tops, I recovered them with red fabric. These bar stools came from Target several years ago.

Here is the after. So pretty!

I had a curtain made for my room so I ordered extra fabric for the stools.
Here is my new curtain. Nice and simple.

So far I am loving the little pops of red. I am starting to see the transformation come together.
I have some more projects that I am working on for my room and will share those this week.
Stay tuned!!
I will do a final video share once the room is complete.

  1. Shelly, this is beautiful! I love how you are being resourceful and recycling things you already have! Those are my favorite kinds of projects! :) Can't wait to see more!

  2. Shelly, brilliant idea for the lamp shades:)

  3. Looks great so far, can't wait to see the video :0)

  4. I love the new color combination!

  5. Shelly- this looks so crisp and happy! I never would have thought to spray paint the lamp shades like that. You have done a great job- you just come on by and fix mine up please!

  6. Shelly, the lamp came out great. Fantasic job! It really "POPS"

  7. Very retro! I like it! =D The white and the red colors on the drapery complement the blue paint of your room. I have to say that it completed the look of the entire space, along with the red upholstery on your stools and the painted lamp. Can’t wait to read your next post!
