Washi Tape Covered Magnet Boards
If you have never used washi tape, it is a removable adhesive tape almost like painters tape, but with colors and designs. It is a lot of fun to use and comes in a bunch of styles and colors from different manufacturers.
I bought two magnet boards from Ikea several years ago and hung them over my craft desk.
Since I have been updating my craft room and changed the colors to aqua, red, and white, I thought the magnet boards could use an update as well.
I used the new washi tape from My Minds Eye in red and turquoise to match my craft room colors.
In these tubes, you get 8 rolls of tape with 8 different designs.
They were perfect for this project!!
To cover the magnet boards, I just cut the tape to fit my boards. I did wrap it around the sides of the board. For this project, I used 1 and 1/2 tubes of tape.
The washi tape lined up perfectly underneath each other. I didn't overlap any of the pieces. I also used each roll of washi tape as they were stacked in the tube so I wouldn't use the same pattern twice in a row.
It took me under an hour to cover both of my boards.
As you can see below, magnets will still stick to the boards now covered in washi tape.
The nice thing about washi tape is it is removable if and when I want to change out the colors/design on the magnet boards.
