Scrapbook Layout - 4th Grade Play Day

Hi everybody! Today I have a 12x12 scrapbook layout to share with you titled 4th Grade Play Day.

I made this layout for Emily's school album.
I wanted to keep these play day ribbons so I added them to a Maya Road kraft envelope and am letting them be my layout title.
I used the Now & Then paper collection by Teresa Collins.
I am submitting this layout for a Two Peas CHA2013 challenge. For challenge #1, we had to use one color that we loved. These blues in this collection were perfect for my 5x7 collage picture.
The pictures are from Emily's 4th grade play day from 2012. Her blue shirt and ribbons worked great with these papers.
I made three embellishment clusters using die cuts from the collection and added stitching and stamps.
The navy blue "mist" look is from a Stampin Up stamp set and Jenni Bowlin ink in Spice Tin (pictured below).

This is a wonderful stamp set from Stampin Up called Gorgeous Grunge. I don't sell Stampin Up but I saw my friend show this in her haul video and I knew that I would use it.  It is nice to be able to create that "misted" look using my inks versus a spray.

This is also a nice set if you do art journaling/collages.

This was a fun layout to create! Thank you for looking. See you on the next post.

Fun Summer Vignette

I made a fun summer vignette in my kitchen to display some vacation pictures.

I wanted to add some color to my kitchen counter for summer. I love red and aqua so that is what I chose to work with.

The first thing I did was painted a plain wooden frame aqua so that I could add some fun vacation pictures to it.

The plain wooden frame came from Hobby Lobby. I used Indian Turquoise paint and then added some screws and wire to the back of the frame so I could add pictures.

I used small clothes pins and some patterned paper to embellish the pictures.

I made these fun pinwheels and glued them onto a skewer. I placed them in a blue tinted mason jar from World Market. I added some curled scrapbook paper to help hold the skewers in the jar.

The paper collection that I used for the frame and pinwheels is called I Heart Summer by Simple Stories.

I bought this red clock from a Cracker Barrel while we were on vacation in Georgia.

I added some faux candles to the top. They are on a timer and come on in the evening. It looks very pretty in my kitchen.

This was a fun and easy project. I love looking at our vacation pictures while working in the kitchen.

Thank you for looking!

See you on the next project.
