I made a fun summer vignette in my kitchen to display some vacation pictures.
I wanted to add some color to my kitchen counter for summer. I love red and aqua so that is what I chose to work with.
The first thing I did was painted a plain wooden frame aqua so that I could add some fun vacation pictures to it.
The plain wooden frame came from Hobby Lobby. I used Indian Turquoise paint and then added some screws and wire to the back of the frame so I could add pictures.
I used small clothes pins and some patterned paper to embellish the pictures.
I made these fun pinwheels and glued them onto a skewer. I placed them in a blue tinted mason jar from World Market. I added some curled scrapbook paper to help hold the skewers in the jar.
The paper collection that I used for the frame and pinwheels is called I Heart Summer by Simple Stories.
I bought this red clock from a Cracker Barrel while we were on vacation in Georgia.
I added some faux candles to the top. They are on a timer and come on in the evening. It looks very pretty in my kitchen.
This was a fun and easy project. I love looking at our vacation pictures while working in the kitchen.
Thank you for looking!
See you on the next project.

Love your ideas, it's just perfect. I've been wanting to alter a frame for some time, but don't seem to just do it.
ReplyDeleteI love all these fun ideas, but my favorite is the frame with all the pictures on the wire! So pretty!
