Project Life Layouts

Today I want to share with you my March 2012 project life layouts.

(I am playing catch-up on my Project Life)

This month in our life was busy so I had four layouts.

March 2012 Page 1

This spread included my niece's birthday party, Emily's science fair at school, and the start of spring break.

You will notice that I had a lot of photos for this month, so I utilized photo collages to help add more pictures without taking up too much space.

Emily took a trip to Galveston Island with my parents and she took some pictures and saved her Moody Gardens ticket stubs and receipt. She also brought back some postcards. I cut one of the postcards in half and used it in the far left 3x4 slot. I also used an aqua striped sack to hold the extra ticket stubs and receipt.

We also took a trip to the movies and the mall so I included the ticket stuff on the captured journaling card with some washi tape.

I used a mix of the honey PL kit from Becky Higgins and an Echo Park collection called Springtime. I also used various letter stickers, die cuts, and Ali Edwards stamps.

March 2012 Page 2

On this layout we visited the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History so I had a lot of pictures. I created 4 - 4x6 collages to help me include all of the photos. I only used one journaling card for this layout so that I could include most of the pictures.

March 2012 Page 3

On this layout we left the museum and headed over to the Fort Worth Stock Yards. Once again, lots of photos and collages and only one journaling card.

The final layout for March included spring flowers, my spray painted mason jars, and time spent outdoors.

Here is my video for the spray painted mason jars.

I used my Silhouette Cameo for this month and made some frames and arrow cuts. These come in handy for the collages.

I am going to keep going and will have some more 2012 project life to share with you.

If you are behind with your project life, I am proof that you can catch up!!

See you next time.

Project Life Layouts

I have some Project Life layouts to share with you today.

I know it has been quiet here on the blog, but with Emily going back to school next week I am hoping to post more on the blog.

I am behind on project life and started to complete my 2012 album.

I don't cover my project life week by week. I print the best pictures and stories that I want to tell for each month and go from there.

Here is January 2012 page 1.

I used a mix of project life cards for the Becky Higgins Honey kit and some free printable cards from online.

I love using collages in my project life so that I can get more pictures into my album without taking up too much space.

This layout covered new years, a sleepover for Emily, and my birthday . I also added in some pictures of me and Andy having a lunch picnic (in January!) and my winter wreath that I made.

January 2012 page 2.

This page was dedicated to Emily's 10th birthday. I used some Ali Edwards stamps and letter stickers.

Here is February 2012 page 1.

This layout covers us meeting our nephew for the first time who was born on 02.01.12. I also captured some fun shots of Emily, another handmade wreath for Emily's room, and a trip to Barnes and Nobles.

I used the Echo Park Be Mine collection kit for these two layouts.

February 2012 page 2.

For this layout I made three collages so that I could get in all of the pictures that I wanted to include without taking up too many pockets.

The collage on the top left covers Emily working on her science project. The top right covers Emily's valentines party at school.

The bottom left is a picture of our hands dipping strawberries in chocolate. This is how we like to celebrate valentines day in our house.

The bottom right collage covers Emily's competition dive meet.

It feels so good to have these two months complete.

I am going to keep working hard to finish my 2012 album.

I will share more as I complete the layouts.

Thanks for looking and see you on the next post.

Smash Album Update

I finally brought out my Smash journal and added some new things to it.

I don't reach for this that often since I started doing Project Life. I still save things to add to this album and finally decided to spend a quiet Saturday afternoon adding some things to it.

For this layout, I used pictures from our recent trip to the library on a rainy Sunday afternoon. These pages were perfect since they already included a library tag and books. I saved the library receipt and printed these pictures from my phone. I captured the stack of books that Emily checked out and a picture of her looking at the books on the shelf.

I layered a couple of October Afternoon paper scraps, some washi tape and a stamp.

For this page, I kept is very simple because the notes speak for themselves.  When my husband, Andy, cooks he will sometimes leave these fun notes on the door coming into the house from the garage. Emily and I will see them when pulling in and it always makes us laugh. These are definitely the types of things that I love to keep and a smash journal makes it perfect to keep these fun notes.

I used a Smash pad journal tag to record my journaling.

For this page, I wanted to play with some new stamps and inks that I have bought over the last month.

Sometimes it is just fun to get out your supplies and play.

I used a some new stamps from Prima and a new set from Stampin Up. The inks are also from Stampin Up.

I had fun making a mixed media type background.

I layered some October Afternoon paper and ephemera and some rub-on's and called it done.

Here is a YouTube video that I made if you would like to see a flip-through of the entire journal.

Thank you for looking!

See you on the next post.
