I Heart Summer 12x12 Layout - From Frame to Layout

Today I want to share a layout that was created from framed pictures.

Back in June I shared a summer project below where I hung some of our vacation pictures in this fun frame.

I am getting ready to put up some fall decorations, so I took down the pictures from the frame and decided to make a layout with them. They are perfectly good pictures and I didn't want them to go to waste.

I also took the paper pinwheels off of the skewer sticks (in the mason jar above) to re-use for future projects as well.  Tip - If you use a glue gun on your projects and want to take them apart, you can use your heat gun to "heat up" the glue. It only took about 15 seconds and the glue became soft enough that I could pull apart the pinwheel without ripping the paper. Be careful if you try it.

Here is the layout.

I pulled out a piece of Simple Stories I Heart Summer 12x12 paper called Teal Boardwalk for my background paper. I then placed everything down that was on the frame. It all fit perfectly. I didn't have to cut anything.

I added three slider frames from Crate Paper The Pier collection and a bicycle dimensional sticker and flair badge from the I Heart Collection. Some of the collaged pictures were already backed with the I Heart Paper and the I Heart Summer 4x6 card is from the collection as well. I just backed it with a piece of striped paper from the collection to stand out more.

I also added on one of my paper pinwheels that was in the mason jar.

I added my journaling under the pinwheel and called it complete.

This was the fastest layout that I have ever made!

Love it!

Thanks for looking!

  1. Love your frame with the clothespins holding up the pics! Great idea to move the photos to a layout, so you can reuse the frame for more recent photos!
