Fall Yarn Wreath with Cross Stitching

Today I want to share with you my Mom's yarn wreath with cross stitching.

My Mom has been watching me make my wreaths over the past couple of years and she decided that she wanted to make her own fall wreath.
In March, when I was at her house showing her how to make a curly paper wreath (see here), she told me she wanted to go to the store and buy her the stuff to make a fall wreath.
We got her a straw wreath and some pretty, fall yarn called Wild Fire from Wal-Mart.
Here is the end result!

First, Mom wrapped the yarn around the wreath.

She then asked me what else she could put on the wreath.

Here is a close-up of the yarn and the colors that are in it. So pretty!

My Mom is a wonderful cross-stitcher.  I asked her if she had an embroidery hoop left in her stash. She looked and had one left. I told her to cross-stitch something fall and then we could add the hoop to the wreath.

Here is what my Mom made.  So pretty!

She then found this candle ring in her stash that I had given her last year.

The hoop fit perfectly in the center of the candle ring so I hot-glued them together.

I then hot-glued it all onto the lower right half of the wreath.

Here we go, it's done!!

I am so proud of my Mom for making her first wreath.

She did a fabulous job and just loves looking at her wreath everyday.

She told me that she already went back to the store and bought another straw wreath and some candy apple red yarn for a Christmas wreath. You go Mom!!!
