Refurbished Patio Furniture

In my post today, I want to share with you our refurbished patio furniture.

This patio furniture was bought by my in-law's in the early 1990's.
It was originally black, then we painted it green when we inherited the set in the late 90's.
Here are the before pictures.
Here is a view of the furniture on our front porch.
Here is the glider.
Here is the chair.
Here is the side table.

Each piece needed new screws/bolts and paint.
Here are the new parts on the glider (new and shiny)!

New paint. Rust-Oleum in Metallic oil rubbed bronze.

Andy used his sprayer to paint the furniture.  This made it so fast and the color  more even.

Here is the refurbished patio set.

It is hard to tell, but the new bronze color is so pretty.

I bought these two pretty green outdoor pillows from Target.

Here is a close-up of the bronze color.

More details of the glider.

Here is the refurbished chair.

Refurbished table.

Since we had some paint leftover, we sprayed this planter that was light grey.  This will give you a better look at the pretty bronze color.

I am so happy that we took the time to refurbish this furniture.

We priced new patio furniture, but hands down, it cost us so much less to refurbish our existing set.

On my next post I will share with you my front porch with my spring plants.

Thank you for looking!

See you on the next post.

Hugs, Shelly

12x12 Calendar Layouts for March and April 2014

Using the collect app on my iPhone, I printed my March and April calendar layouts from Costco.

I love to decorate these and add them to my Project Life album.

Here is the YouTube video showing you everything in detail.

For the March calendar, I used the Echo Park paper collection called Springtime.

For my April calendar, I used the Vintage Bliss paper collection from Simple Stories.

For both layouts, I pulled embellishments from Crate Paper, Pink Paislee, Cosmo Cricket, Heidi Swapp as well as using the embellishments from the paper collections mentioned above.

I am having so much fun with these monthly calendars.

Thank you for looking!

DIY House Number Yard Post - A Pinterest Inspired Project

In today's post, I want to share with you a Pinterest inspired project - DIY House Number Yard Post.

If you would life to see the original project please visit the Shanty2Chic website. This site is ran by two sisters who make fabulous projects. I am so inspired by them!
I have it pinned on Pinterest here
I have had this pinned for a while, so I asked my sweet husband if we could finally make it for my Mother's Day gift.
Here is our version of this project.

We followed Shanty2Chic's instructions and made this within a couple of hours.  The longest part is waiting for the stain to dry.
The only thing that I did differently than Shanty2Chic was I used a fence post solar light on the top of the post. I also chose to hang a bird feeder on the side.  I already had this on hand and it worked great for this project.
Here are the supplies that we used.
All supplies were purchased at Home Depot.

We used our existing fence stain that we had on hand.  The color is redwood by Behr.

Waiting for the stain to dry.

Once the stain dried, we just attached the solar light, house numbers, and hanging plant bracket.

I love this so much!

It fits perfectly in our front flower bed.

We loved how these turned out and how easy they were to make, so we made two more.

One for each Mom for Mother's Day.

Best Mother's Day gifts ever!!

Thank you to Shanty2Chic for the inspiration!!

Homemade Canvas Decor

Today I have some homemade canvas decor to share with you.

We got Emily some new bathroom decor from Target. This is from the Circo brand.

We got the shower curtain and new rugs, but Target didn't have any home decor pieces to match.

I loved the chevron style and the colors.

I looked through my stash of craft items and knew that I could easily make some home decor pieces to match.

Here is what I made.

The piece on the left is a piece of scrapbook paper and canvas.  That is all, but I love the look.

Her are the supplies.

12x12 canvas
Americana Decou-page
12x12 scrapbook paper

The paper I used is by Studio Calico Lemon Lush collection called Passionate.

I just brushed the decou-page onto the back of the paper and adhered it to the canvas.

I also brushed a thin coat of decou-page onto the front of the paper.

The next set of canvases are made up of paint and a stencil.

I used the shower curtain as my inspiration piece.

I had 3 - 6x12 Blick Studio canvases on hand and luckily I had every paint color on hand that matched the shower curtain.

First, I painted the canvases with a coat of gesso.

I cut a 6x12 chevron stencil using my Silhouette Cameo.

I used washi tape to hold down my stencil and then used makeup sponges to apply the paint over the stencil onto the canvas and then let them dry.

That is all it took to make matching wall decor.

I love them!

I always love it when I can make home decor with supplies from my stash.

Thank you for looking!

Project Life Layouts - April 2014

Hi there, I would like to show you my project life layouts for April 2014.

As always, here is the YouTube video showing you everything in detail, including all products used.

Here is a picture of each layout and two inserts that I included for the month.

My main paper product that I used was the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection.

I used a lot of cuts from my Silhouette Cameo.
I also pulled out my watercolors and painted some of my die cuts.

I added a 3 pocket, 6x12, insert to cover Emily's first solo band contest and party.

I follow @pnpflowers on Instagram and she makes the prettiest inspirational Instagram pictures.

I asked her if I could use her creations in my project life layouts and she said yes.

They are so pretty and perfect for my layouts.

I added another insert to cover Easter with family.

I used project life cards from the Becky Higgins Honey edition.

I water colored on this Honey edition project life card to add some color. Super fun!

I used some of the Dear Lizzy stitched ruffle paper in a 4x4 pocket. I love the layered look!

I had so much fun putting these layouts together and capturing our April moments.

Thank you so much for looking.

Hugs, Shelly
