February 2015 Project Life Layouts

Hi there! I want to share my February 2015 Project Life layouts with you.

You can watch the video linked below to see everything in detail and here more about the product and pictures.

For these layouts, I used the Simple Stories Life Documented Collection.

Here are the layouts.

For this filler card, I used an ampersand 3x4 card from the Simple Stories Life Documented Collection and then used a photo overlay on top that says Life Documented.

I cut this fun envelope pocket from the Silhouette Cameo to tuck in the notes from my husband for Valentine's Day.

I cut this tab from my Silhouette Cameo and stamped the moments in Stampin Up Real red. The stamp is from Studio L2E.

This is a fun smaller pocket page insert that I am using to add in the "extra" pictures from the month.

I love adding some washi tape to the binding of my page protector for an added pop of color.

Backside of the insert.

I love this technique of using three labels in a row and adding fun stamps with different colors of ink.

I will definitely use this technique again!

Here is another filler card with a photo overlay on top of the card.

Thank you so much for looking!

I hope you enjoyed seeing our February pictures.

Sharing Two 12x12 Layouts | Featuring the Maggie Holmes Confetti Collection

Today I have two 12x12 layouts to share with you.

I used the new Maggie Holmes Confetti collection by Crate Paper.

This is a beautiful collection and I used it to create two layouts for my daughter's birthday.

You can see both layouts up close and in detail by viewing the video linked below.

My first layout is titled Happy 13th Birthday.

I was inspired by this layout here by Jennifer Haggerty.

The circle cut file was cut on my Silhouette Cameo.

I used a Maggie Holmes 3x4 project life card for my journaling.

It fit perfectly in her Confetti collection pockets.

Here is my second layout.

I had fun using a Heidi Swapp stencil and some Hero Arts Ink to add some stars and hearts to this fabulous piece of patterned paper.

Birthday No. 12 Layout

I loved this piece of paper and my picture fit perfectly at the bottom right corner so that I didn't have to cover up any of the pretty printing.

I had fun just adding layers of paper and embellishments to this layout.

I hope you enjoy these layouts!

Thanks for looking

Hugs, Shelly

Recipe Share for Copycat Olive Garden Chicken and Gnocchi Soup

Hi there! Today, for lunch, I tried a new-to-me recipe for Copycat Olive Garden Chicken & Gnocchi soup.
My husband loves this soup and usually orders it when we eat out at our local Olive Garden Italian restaurant.

I filmed this recipe for my Shelly's Home Life YouTube channel. You can click on the link below to view it.

Here is a picture of the ingredients that I used for this recipe.

It is delicious and I will definitely make it again!

You can click here for the original recipe link

You can Pin it here for later.

Recipe: (the way that I made it)

1/2 bag of Pictsweet Seasoning blend
(blend of onions, celery, and red peppers) you will find this with the frozen vegetables at the store
1 clove garlic
1/2 carrot, shredded
1 tbsp olive oil
3 to 4 chicken breasts, cooked and diced
(I boiled 2 large chicken breasts in some some water with a chicken bouillon cube for around 25 minutes. let cool and then chop or shred)
4 Cups Chicken Stock
Salt and Pepper, to taste
1 tsp ground thyme
16oz package of potato gnocchi
2 Cups Half and Half
1 Cup fresh spinach, chopped

Saute the seasoning blend, garlic, and carrot in the olive oil over medium heat until the onion is translucent.

Add the chicken breasts, chicken stock, salt, pepper, and thyme. Bring to a boil, then add in the gnocchi. Gently boil for 4 minutes, then turn down the heat to a simmer for around 10 minutes.

Add in the half and half and spinach. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes or until the spinach has wilted.

I served it with a bake sourdough bread that I brushed with some garlic olive oil and rosemary.

Garnish the soup with fresh Parmesan cheese and enjoy!
I hope that you give this recipe a try!

January 2015 Project Life Layouts

Hi there! I want to share my January 2015 Project Life layouts with you.

I have a YouTube video linked below that will show you all of the layouts in detail and the products that I used.

Here is a picture of each layout.

I used a 6x8 Page Protector for my 2015 album cover layout.

Backside of the cover page.

I just included one family picture of us from New Year's Eve.

I am using the Collect app on my iPhone again this year for my layouts.

I am saving one - 3x4 pocket on each layout to use as a fun embellishment pocket.

This month was my 40th Birthday, so I added a fun insert in the middle of the layouts.

I also had fun adding some washi tape to the spine of my page protector. I saw Kelly Purkey use this technique on one of her Project Life layout videos.

This is an older Pink Paislee page protector that has this fun flap that opens up.

Here is the backside of my birthday insert.

I just included some 4x4 photo collages from my day.

I am also including another insert in my monthly spreads.

I had these page protectors in my stash that I thought would be fun them up with random pictures from throughout the month.

Backside of the insert.

I cut this tab from my Silhouette Cameo and used a Studio L2E stamp set to stamp the word moments and then I just wrote in the "in January."

I added one more extra insert for January.

Emily turned 13 this month and I knew that I wanted to document her two birthday parties in a separate insert.

I used a We R Memory Keepers page protector that has 4-4x6 and 3-4x4 pockets.

I had so much fun capturing our January 2015 memories.

I hope you enjoyed seeing it too!

Hugs, Shelly
