Hello Beautiful Card Using a Heat Emboss Resist and Watercolor Technique - Process Video Included

I have card to share with you all today that includes a process video!

I don't make a lot of cards anymore, but I still love to make cards for my daughter, Emily.

She turns 14 this week, so I wanted to make her a pretty card to reflect how much we love her!

I was inspired by the Hello Beautiful title and technique of this card done by Lime Doodle Design

I filmed a process video showing how I put this card together if you would like to watch.

Here are the supplies that I pulled for my card.

I cut the hello floral die cut and beautiful sentiment from my Silhouette cameo.

All other items are from my stash of supplies.

The first thing that I did was heat emboss the Simon Says Stamp Drawn Heart Background stamp onto my watercolor paper using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder.

After heat setting the embossing powder, I used my aqua pen and started water coloring on top of the embossed hearts.

Since the hearts are embossed, they will resist the watercolor which makes for a pretty effect on the card. I love using this technique and you could do this on a layout or project life card.

I also decided to watercolor the beautiful die cut in black so it would stand out better on the card.

I felt like the card needed something else, so I pulled this ki Memories Doily Dance transparency from my stash. I cut out three of the doily shapes from the sheet to use on my card.

I glued everything down and this is my completed card.

I love this card so much and am so excited to give this to Emily for her birthday!

Thank you so much for visiting me today!

Hugs, Shelly
